FFA (Fundus Floressein Digital Angiography)

It is a vascular imaging method for evaluating the choroidal circulation with the retinal arteries and veins feeding the eye nerve layers (retina). The process is performed remotely and it takes about 10-15 minutes and only visible light is used. (X-ray beams are not used.)

The yellow dye (fluorescein) from the forearm vessels of our patients reaches the eye vessels in about 12 seconds, during which images are recorded with the FFA device. Problematic regions and veins are determined and laser and necessary initiatives are planned according to the result. In particular, diabetes, vascular occlusion and yellow spot disease (age-related macular degeneration) is an indispensable test.

After the procedure, yellow color change in the skin and redness in urination are observed. Rarely, allergic reactions can be seen.
